The Outback Division of General Practice has launched the Brolga Project as part of the Commonwealth Government funded Mental Health Support for Drought Affected Communities Initiative.

The Brolga Project

The Brolga Project is focused on the impact of the drought and rural change within the Outback Division area and the importance of individuals and families keeping mentally healthy.

The Brolga Project celebrates the resilience of outback communities and people and while ensuring that individuals, families and communities know how to access treatment and support services if they find their mental health is under strain.

The Brolga Project involves community events celebrating outback resilience, linking mental health and rural services, supporting General Practitioners in responding to the mental health needs of their patients and compiling a web resource for the community, service providers, health professionals and General Practitioners.
